varioShore TPU

Flexible. Lightweight. Foaming.

Meet varioShore TPU by colorFabb – the most versatile, flexible, shock-absorbing and foaming 3d printing filament on the market today, with variable Shore hardness, reduced weight and density, and a soft-touch, varioShore TPU opens up entirely new possibilities in flexible 3D printing.

colorFabb is the inventor of foaming TPU. We took TPU — and made it special. varioShore TPU combines the trusted durability of TPU with the foaming technology we first introduced in our popular LW-PLA filament.

The result? A material unlike anything else on the market.

How to print with varioShore

One material, many outcomes.

Meet varioShore TPU gives you full control over how your 3d prints feel and perform. By adjusting temperature and flow, you can create soft, light, flexible and foamed parts — or go for firmer, more solid prints. Vary the density of the material by adjusting temperature and material throughput (speed & layerheight).

At 200–250°C the material expands up to 1.6x its original volume, thanks to active foaming. Printed at lower flow rates (60–70%), this produces extremely soft, flexible, and lightweight parts with a density as low as 0.7–0.9 g/cm³.

At 190–200°C there’s no foaming — resulting in tougher parts with a Shore hardness of 92A.

When fully foamed you can reach a Shore hardness of around 55A.

Whether you need shock-absorbing insoles, bicycle saddles, soft cosplay armor or anything in between; varioShore TPU adapts to your needs.

From Idea to Innovative Filament – Together with You

At colorFabb, everything revolves around innovation and customization. In the Research & Development department, I work on the next big step in 3D printing. Do you have an idea for a new filament? A specific application for which existing material just doesn't meet the requirements? Then we dive into the world of materials and technology together to develop the perfect filament.

Every development starts with a question. A challenge. A wish.

From there, we start the research: which raw materials, which properties and which performances are needed? We test and optimize formulas, so that your idea becomes reality. Do you want extra strong, flexible materials or filaments with other unique functional properties – we make it work!

We believe that the best innovations come from collaboration.

So do you have a challenge for us?

Let us know, and let's build the future of 3D printing together!
